Hector A. is first to win one of six instant-win vehicles featured in newest game from Washington's Lottery
Olympia, Wash. (August 4, 2026) – Just weeks after Washington's Lottery launched its first-ever Scratch game featuring a vehicle as an instant-win prize, Olympia resident Hector A. drove home in a brand-new 2026 Ford Bronco Sport® Outer Banks® after picking up the shiny new SUV last week.
Back in June, when Hector stopped by the Chevron at 9335 Martin Way E in Lacey to pick up a couple of Scratch tickets, he wasn't sure which game to choose. A flashing "New Game" message on the lottery vending machine caught his attention, so he decided to give Keys & Cash a try.
The next morning, Hector scratched his ticket. When he uncovered the “key” symbol, he called out to his wife, “I think I won a car!”
He was right. Hector was the game’s first grand prize winner, and he soon would be taking home one of six Ford Broncos available through the game.
Last week, Hector was joined by his wife, daughter and granddaughter as he picked up his new vehicle. He chose the base model, as it already had everything he wanted. After receiving his new keys, he handed the keys to the 2019 SUV he’d been driving to his granddaughter as a gift.
The family's first road trip in the new Bronco is already planned. Destination: Victoria, British Columbia.
"It's all been exciting. It was fun picking it out, and now it looks even better seeing it here. For $10, I won a brand-new car. That’s pretty cool," Hector said.
Keys & Cash is a $10 Scratch game offered by Washington's Lottery and the first in its history to feature an instant-win vehicle prize. Players can also win cash prizes ranging from $10 to $25,000 by matching winning numbers or revealing special symbols.
